The month of October was filled with learning, joy, and celebrations at Geetanjali International School. We began the month with the Term 1 Report Card Release and Parent Orientation, where we warmly welcomed parents to understand the Cambridge way of learning. Teachers explained how inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, and conceptual understanding are at the heart of the Cambridge curriculum. Parents actively engaged in discussions, gaining a deeper appreciation of how the Cambridge approach nurtures independent and reflective learners.

As the month unfolded, we paid tribute to one of India’s most inspiring figures, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, on his birth anniversary. A special assembly was held to honour his life and contributions as a scientist, teacher, and the People’s President. Students presented speeches, poems, and reflections inspired by his famous quote, “Dream, Dream, Dream. Dreams transform into thoughts and thoughts result in action.”

Students presented cultural performances, dances, and songs that brought alive the spirit of Diwali. The highlight of the event was the Ravan Dahan and a Ramayana Skit performed by students, spreading the message of truth, righteousness, and the triumph of good over evil.

Each day was dedicated to exploring the power of words through various activities such as Character Dress-Up Day, Book Review Presentations, Poetry Recitation, Story Writing, Spell Bee Competitions, and Book Fair Visits. Classrooms were transformed into imaginative literary worlds, and students enthusiastically showcased their love for reading and storytelling. The Literathon was a beautiful reminder that reading opens endless doors of imagination and knowledge.

We concluded the month with the spirited celebration of Karnataka Rajyotsava, honouring the rich culture and heritage of our state. The day began with a flag hoisting ceremony, followed by a special assembly showcasing vibrant dance performances, folk songs, and storytelling competitions in Kannada. The celebration reflected our respect for the land we belong to and our pride in being part of Karnataka’s glorious legacy.

October truly was a month that blended learning, creativity, and cultural appreciation. As we move ahead, we carry forward the same enthusiasm, unity, and spirit of celebration into the coming months.
