YOGA

Dear parents,

The vibrant corridors of Geetanjali International School have once again come alive with the cheerful laughter and excited chatter of our young learners. As we step into a new academic year, the energy on campus is both refreshing and reassuring. We began the year with great intention, focusing on academic readiness, emotional connection, and holistic development.

To set a strong academic foundation, we conducted the Base-Line Assessments across all grades. These initial evaluations help our facilitators identify each child’s current learning levels and highlight specific areas that may need focused support. The primary objective is to bridge any learning gaps and ensure that every child progresses with confidence and clarity. The results from these assessments will guide the development of customised remedial plans, ensuring that each learner receives the support they need to thrive in the classroom.

In the spirit of gratitude, we dedicated a special moment to celebrate Father’s Day. Our young learners expressed their love and appreciation for the superheroes in their lives — their fathers — through thoughtful messages, poems, and creative expressions. These touching tributes recognised the unwavering presence, strength, and love that fathers bring into their children’s lives, often quietly and without seeking recognition.

YOGA

We also marked International Yoga Day with grace and serenity. In a beautiful display of community engagement, our parents and students participated in a guided yoga session led by our experienced team. The session focused on breathing techniques, basic asanas, and mindfulness practices that promote both physical and emotional wellbeing. It was heartening to see families connect through yoga, reminding us of the importance of balance, calm, and wellness in our everyday lives.

On the occasion of National Doctor’s Day, we had the honour of welcoming two eminent doctors to our campus. The doctors conducted an enriching and interactive session with our students, where they discussed the importance of health, hygiene, and nutrition. Students had the opportunity to ask questions, engage in hands-on first aid demonstrations, and gain valuable insights into medical careers and the role of doctors in society. The session inspired many of our learners and left a lasting impression.

A new addition to our curriculum this year is the introduction of Pottery. This creative and therapeutic art form is already becoming a favourite among students. Through pottery, children are learning to express themselves artistically while developing fine motor skills, patience, and spatial awareness. Our dedicated pottery space has become a hub of creativity, where imagination meets skill and every piece tells a story molded by young hands.

The atmosphere on campus has grown even more dynamic with the arrival of the student council election season. Students have enthusiastically stepped into the democratic process, campaigning for leadership positions such as Head Boy, Head Girl, Sports Captain, and House Prefects for Gracia,Aequitas, Concordia, and Sapientia. Nominees are preparing speeches, presenting their manifestos, and participating in discussions that reflect their vision for the school. The campaign period has become a learning ground for leadership, responsibility, and active citizenship.

Our young learners from the Early Years Programme (EYP) took centre stage with confidence and charm as they presented a Special Assembly on the theme “Culture and Identity.” It was a heartwarming celebration where our little ones beautifully expressed what culture and identity mean to them. Dressed in vibrant traditional attire representing their own heritage, the children shared songs, rhymes, and stories that reflected their cultural backgrounds. From regional dances to short skits, each performance highlighted the values, traditions, and uniqueness of their identities. What made the assembly truly special was the authenticity with which the children spoke about their families, languages, festivals, and customs — reminding us that even at a young age, children are deeply rooted in the essence of who they are. The assembly not only fostered a sense of pride and belonging among the students but also allowed them to appreciate the diverse cultures represented in their own classroom. It was a meaningful experience that strengthened the spirit of inclusion, respect, and global-mindedness — all of which lie at the heart of our learning community.

In another delightful milestone, our little learners were warmly introduced to the school library — a space where imagination takes flight and stories come alive. With wide-eyed curiosity, the children explored the vibrant shelves filled with picture books, early readers, and story collections tailored to their age. During their first visit, they were gently guided through the basic rules and etiquettes of the library, learning how to handle books with care, maintain silence, and respect shared reading spaces. The session aimed to cultivate a sense of responsibility and reverence for books. Most importantly, it marked the beginning of nurturing a lifelong habit of reading.

As the new academic year begins to unfold, we are filled with optimism and purpose. From academics and wellness to creativity and leadership, every initiative is designed to nurture the potential within each child. We thank our parent community for their continued support and look forward to a year filled with discovery, growth, and joyful learning.
